Friday 6th. The light SE'ly slowly increased to moderate and skies became increasingly hazy as Storm Darrah approached from the Atlantic, intensifying as it did. The day's 7 ATs off runway 20 saw Steve and Eileen Scothern each have 2 flights in K21 JVZ with Graham Cooksey and Yuri Kozhevrov have 2 flights in Astir DSU, Andy Tyas having the remaining flight in DSU. In the absence of any lift, it was a day of extended circuits with flight times in the range 13 to 19 minutes.
The forecast for Saturday and Sunday, with Storm Darrah over and then close to the UK, resulted in the flying for both days being scrubbed, low cloud, heavy rain and strong winds being expected during both days.
