Saturday 7th to Sunday 8th December 2024

Saturday 7th.  With no flying to report, other than leaves. branches etc, the weather took precedent. The main rain band accompanied by rapidly increasing winds from Storm Darragh arrived around midday after a deceptively quiescent morning as the storm's centre (978.8 mb at site) crossed the north of England.  By the end of the day the local rainfall total had reached 48.5 mm and  the, by now, NNW'ly was strong at 30mph and gusting up to 60 mph.

Sunday 8th.  As Storm Darragh moved away and started to fill, the NNE'ly slowly declined from fresh to moderate to fresh with accompanying gusts declining from the mid 50 mph to the high 30 mph.  Rain continued off and on throughout the day to add another 20 mm to the total deposited by the storm.
