Sunday 4th to Monday 5th November 2018

Sunday 4th.  A light to moderate ESE'ly blew all day as a weak front made slow progress eastward over the UK, its low cloud and associated poor visibility meaning it was a no-flying day for the visiting Juniors and members.  Clearing skies after lunch raised some hopes of flying but the improvement was brief and did little to alter the departure activity of the visitors.

Monday 5th.  With the UK under a messy system of fronts associated with a large depression in the mid Atlantic, the  air mass in the continuing light to moderate ESE'ly flow was characterised by very poor visibilty, this if anything, getting worse as the day progressed.  Consequently, there was no flying.

This blog describes a snippet of life at the Yorkshire Gliding Club. Why not take a flight and try it yourself, or we can teach you to fly as a full club member.
