Thursday 2nd  A moderate to fresh W/WSW'ly blew all day, with winching off runway 24 commencing around 1120 hrs and continuing until 1615 hrs. 17 launches being flown.  The ridge up to High Paradise Farm was working well, although most pilots didn't stray far from the main bowl, with most flights able to  maintain 1,000' QFE +/- 200', with peak heights of 1700-1800' QFE.  Steve Thompson/Rod Brister in the DG1000 were the only pilots to have more than an hour, their flight time being 1:33,  during which they visited High Paradise Farm and climbed to 1,700' QFE between Gormire and Sutton villlage, while Chris Teagle, flying K21 JVZ solo went a little better with a climb to 1,800' QFE.  Chris Collingham/Konrad Kawalec in the DG500 had 49 minutes, Bob Calvert in Astir DSU had 41 minutes, with Bruce Grain/John Carter's 38 minutes in the DG1000 and Chris Collingham/Konrad Kawalec's 36 minutes in the DG500 completing the list of those with flight times of between 30 and 60 minutes.
