Tuesday 5th to Friday 8th December 2023

Tuesday 5th.  A day of cloud shrouding the site as a moderate NNE/N'ly blew meant there was no flying.

Wednesday 6th.  The low cloud had disappeared to leave generally sunny skies so, with a light to  moderate S'ly blowing to start the day, operations commenced around 1040 hrs off runway 20, the wind slowly backing into the SSE.  The day's total of 17 ATs included 3 for First Flight pupils, and the rest for members, all in either of the club's K21s.  A lack of any kind of lift meant slow descents from release height and consequently flight times of 15-20 minutes, apart from those choosing a low tow.  The day's 2 flights of 20 minutes were for First Flight pupils, Guy Hartland and Simon Altman being the respective P1s.

Thursday 7th.  An active series of Atlantic fronts brought low cloud and heavy rain, particularly in the afternoon, as a fresh SE'ly gusted into the mid to high 30kts, the rainfall in amounting to over 25 mm, so there was no flying.

Friday 8th.  Thursday's heavy rain resulted in a waterlogged airfield with flooded approach roads so there was no flying,  the murky conditions temporarily clearing as a light to moderate SE'ly blew.
