Wednesday 23rd. A variable N'ly between light to moderate to moderate was accompanied by low cloud and rain as the cold front that affected Tuesday's flying crossed the UK. Rain, on and off all day, led to an accumulation of 8.6 mm and accordingly there was no accompanying accumulation of flying time.
Thursday 24th. The remnants of the cold front deposited another 4.1 mm of rain overnight, its associated low cloud not clearing until around midday. Thereafter, heavy showers developed in the light SE'ly with hail and thunder reported locally and although none affected the airfield there was no flying.
Friday 25th. A depression forming in the southern North Sea resulted in a moderate to fresh and gusty NNW'ly wind, with RAF Topcliffe reporting a peak gust of over 40 kts around the middle of the day. Showers and longer periods of rain deposited another 7.6 mm on the airfield over the course of the day so there was no flying.
Saturday 26th. The depression in the Southern North Sea had not moved much so the wind, a moderate to fresh NNW'ly, continued to blow, with gusts of over 30 kts reported from RAF Topcliffe. A sunny start soon gave way to a low overcast, this producing a period of heavy drizzle/light rain in the early afternoon, so there was no flying.
